Fitness Update Week 3

Well, I have continued my journey to be 2/3 of a man. Things are going well, I did not get out friday, I decided to run around with my kids in the field next to my house instead. I will better manage my time from here out.

Week 3 - 6/16/08
My weight: 267
Today I broke a new record for me, I burned a total of 680 calories in my cardio workout! I am thrilled. I also did a complete circuit around the machines that I have determined to use to strengthen my core muscle groups, abdominals, upper legs and arms. Today I did three sets on the machine that works my calves for the first time, that was really tough, but I think it will pay off. Overall I am still very motivated, and pleased with my progress. I am hoping to be under 260 by the first week of July, we shall see.


  1. Yea John! Keep up the good work. I wish we lived nearby so Will could go to the gym with you. Exercising with friends is always more fun!

  2. Jason and I are getting back into a good routine, too. We moved his entire gym to the garage and we try to workout and go running several times a week. Jason is much more diligent than I am, but I try to do a couple miles each run. Jason has already done one tiathlon, someday I will too.

  3. You know I hadn't watched that show in YEARS. Until the other day at the gym. I'm not sure that I will ever be that fit. We will see. A big part of my desire to work out is to be able to keep up with my kids (mostly boys) when playing field sports like football and soccer. They need to have a strong dad who can give them a run for their money.
